Long Haul Flight Immune Booster

I was travelling backwards and forwards to Washington DC a few years ago. That’s probably not considered a long haul flight by many, but it was plenty long enough for me.

To begin with, within days of landing I’d have some kind of respiratory system bug – a cough, a cold, a sore throat – you know the type of thing.

A friend tipped me off about this juicer recipe which I drank before the flight and during the flight. Now, it may well have been coincidence or even a psychosomatic response, but I can tell you that never again did I go down with a bug after flying!

Try it and see for yourself.

Large pineapple (peeled and with the tufty leaves removed)
6 Kiwi fruit

All processed through the juicer and stored in an air tight container until ready to drink. Do not keep for more than one day before drinking.

NB Do be careful with this juice as some people are allergic to Pineapples and Kiwi fruits! If that’s the case substitute with Papaya and Oranges.

Juicer Recipes – The Morning after the Night Before!

Let’s start the reWine is of course nothing more than grape juicecipes with a quick hangover cure!

I know I am extolling the health benefits of juicing and as an avid juicer and health nut I of course never imbibe too much wine (well it is grape juice after all….)

Anyway, experience has unfortunately shown me that this is an ideal pick-me-up for the morning after the night before.

1 Citrus fruit of your choice. Medium Sized. Peeled
1/2 red sweet pepper (yellow or orange would do but avoid green peppers for this recipe)
1/2 Beetroot. Uncooked and unpickled.

  • Process the fruit and vegetables in your juicer.
  • Dilute according to your taste preferences if required

Makes one large portion.

Juicer Recipes – Juicing Basics

Not only does juice taste fantastic it also contains vitamins, minerals, live enzymes and other energy and health giving nutrients.

I am a big fan of juicing as you will come to realise!

I believe that drinking fresh juice everyday has helped me to overcome some significant health problems as well as providing me with the energy I need to regularly work 18 hour days.

Most juicer recipes I plan to post here are suitable for everyone but I do urge anyone with diabetes or pre diabetes to check with their doctor before embarking on a juice regime as care needs to be taken where there is already a sugar sensitivity.

If any of the recipes here turn out too strong don’t be afraid to add a little water to them. Diluting the juices can also make them more suitable for diabetics and for children.

Juicer Recipes

There is nothing quite like fresh juice. There is an energy about it that is hard to describe but very easy to appreciate. Modern juicers have made it possible to extract juice from all manner of foodstuffs which makes all sorts of juicer recipes possible.

However, it is very easy to get carried away (I know, I’ve done it) and produce tumblers full of what can only be described as undrinkable sludge. Some fruits and vegetables do not lend them selves to being mixed with others and some are, quite frankly, foul.

So I thought I would over time post some of my favourite home made recipes I can also recommend The Juice Master for those of you who want to know more about the health benefits of juicing.
